Raised in poverty in a small tobacco-farming town, black Vietnam veteran, Ezekiel Brown, highly decorated for bravery in battle and badly wounded, returns to his hometown in the 1960’s segregated South to find that his innocent, simple-minded brother, Luke, has been brutally tortured and lynched after being wrongfully accused of the rape and murder of a local white girl.
