Charlie Thorn spent many years in publishing with Newsweek and Forbes before relocating to the Lowcountry of South Carolina. He now divides his time between writing and tourism. As a U.S. Coast Guard licensed Master Captain, he ferries visitors across Calibogue Sound to guide historical tours of mysterious Daufuskie Island, the model for the setting of his novel. He and his wife live on Hilton Head Island.
