Douglas is British but has lived and worked both in London and the USA. As a trained lawyer and author, he became interested in crime at sea leading to his mystery thriller Undercurrent published in 1994 (WH Smith Paperback of the Week) and now to The Brutal Seas. This was first commissioned by German publishers and appeared in both hard and paperback as Piraten in 2002. The Brutal Seas was then published in 2006 in English and this eVersion has been substantially updated in 2011. Over his long writing career, including a Number One success, Douglas has written ten books whether mystery thrillers or as non-fiction. He is currently adapting books into screenplays following time spent working with the movie business.
