Following a successful career as a film and television director, Michael Briant crossed the Atlantic from the UK to the Caribbean, sailed from the West Indies to Chesapeake Bay then Panama and the South Pacific. Was attacked by pirates in the Gulf of Aden on hisway back to Europe.
